Jobber request audit
Jobber Request-to-Quote Cleanup Before a Home Service Business Buys More Leads
Review Jobber request dates, lead sources, ownership, statuses, quote numbers, job numbers, and supported actions before a home service business buys more leads.
Direct Answer
Before a home service business buys more leads, review a recent Jobber request sample from the request forward. Keep the request date, lead source, assigned owner, request status, quote number, job number and last supported action in separate columns. A request without a quote does not prove the marketing source failed. It shows where the evidence trail currently stops.
A Jobber lead management cleanup for contractors should compare the request report with the lead-source view instead of treating either one as the whole story. One shows individual requests and their progress. The other groups business activity by source. Together they can reveal a handoff gap without inventing a cause.
Start With One Date Range
Use the created date for the sample and record the range in the review. Jobber's Requests report can be filtered by created date or assessment date, and those are not interchangeable. A request created last month but assessed this month can move between samples depending on the filter.
Choose a small period that the owner can still explain, such as the last 14 or 30 days. Export only the columns needed for the decision. Full customer histories make the review slower and increase privacy exposure without improving the first diagnosis.
Build the Request-to-Quote Table
| Field | What it can establish |
|---|---|
| Requested on | When the request entered the workflow |
| Lead source | The recorded source, including available UTM or integration data |
| Assigned to | Who had visible ownership |
| Request status | The current workflow state, not a complete contact history |
| Quote number | Whether the request was converted to a quote |
| Job number | Whether the request was converted to a job |
| Last supported action | The latest dated note, message, quote or job event visible in the packet |
This Jobber request to quote conversion audit should leave blank facts blank. A missing quote number does not tell you whether the customer was unqualified, the office called but did not document it, the request was duplicated or the team simply missed it.
Treat the Lead Label as Current State
Jobber currently removes the lead label when a job is created, an invoice is sent or a quote is approved. Its client contact information report describes lead status as of today. That makes the label useful for current work, but it is not a historical timeline by itself.
Do not reconstruct last month's lead state from today's label. Use dated request, quote and job evidence. This distinction matters when an owner sees a low request-conversion rate and assumes every current client was handled correctly from the beginning.
Watch for Changed Request Questions
Jobber notes that request questions must match exactly to return historical data. If a question was renamed, old responses may not appear under the new wording. A blank custom field can therefore mean no answer, a changed question or an export limitation.
Mark that field unknown until the owner checks the original request. Do not classify the lead as incomplete based on an export artifact.
Decide What to Fix Before Spending More
After the table is complete, sort findings into four practical groups:
- source is present and the handoff is documented;
- source is present but ownership or next action is missing;
- source is missing or too broad to compare;
- the record is contradictory and needs a human check.
This gives the owner a better home service Jobber lead source review before more ad spend. It does not say which vendor to keep. It shows whether the internal record is strong enough to judge one.
Limits and Privacy
AI Cleanup Doctor does not need a Jobber login for a first review. Send one redacted CSV slice or a few screenshots with names, phone numbers, email addresses, street addresses, payment data and private notes removed. Never send a password, two-factor code, live access link or full customer database.
The review cannot prove an unrecorded call, correct Jobber records, assign staff, contact a customer or guarantee conversion, booked jobs or revenue.
